In his first voice message on 26 June, Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder of the “Wagner” group, said he expected “new victories on the front”, without giving details.
The message was posted on the “Grey Zone” Telegram channel, linked to the private military mercenary company “Vagner”.
Prigozhin thanked the Russian people for their support, which he said was needed more than ever.
“I want you to understand that our ‘march for justice’ was aimed at ‘fighting traitors and mobilising our society.’ I think we have achieved a lot,” Prigozhin said.
On 23 June, Prigozhin launched a “march for justice” against Russian military leaders after the Russian army allegedly targeted positions of “Wagner” fighters in Ukraine.
His mercenaries occupied Rostov and reached within 200 kilometres of Moscow, only to put an abrupt end to the rebellion after talks between Prigozhin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko.
Prigozhin and his soldiers were allowed to leave for Belarus. They were offered the option of joining the Russian army or, if they wished, returning to their homes.
Lukashenko said that Prigozhin arrived in Belarus on 27 June. However, there is no confirmation yet on the exact whereabouts of the Wagner boss./Danas/
