Anu Prattipati, Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy in Kosovo, thanked those in attendance at the official July 4 reception and said nowhere else has she had the opportunity to celebrate the holiday like she does here in the most pro-American country in the world.
Speaking about the partnership, she said that it is not just about what the US achieves for itself, but also, in her opinion, about America’s power helping to strengthen its partners. Kosovo is a clear example of this partnership delivering results.
Prattipati emphasized that she was celebrating US Independence Day for the first time in Kosovo.
“This is my first time celebrating US Independence Day in Kosovo. When I arrived last summer as deputy chief of mission, I certainly did not expect to serve as chargé d’affaires for this celebration – and I am honored to take on this role,” Prattipati said.
She went on to commemorate a number of anniversaries in the United States, including the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army – the oldest branch of our armed forces – which was on the front lines of the War of Independence.
This year, the same US Army trained side by side with the Kosovar security forces as part of Defender 25, the largest US military exercise in Europe – with Kosovo as the host country. This is more than just a symbol of our friendship. It is more than that. It is truly significant. It is a testament to the strength of our security partnership. Together we are safer and stronger,” Prattipati emphasized.
She went on to say that our countries are stronger and safer thanks to Kosovo’s unwavering commitment and alignment with U.S. policy priorities.
“We have worked together to protect Americans and Kosovars from cyber criminals, we have spoken out against anti-Semitism, and most recently, we have been united in our determination to prevent malicious actors from acquiring nuclear weapons,” Prattipati emphasized, adding that Kosovo has also been among the strongest supporters of the United States in our efforts to protect our border.
“We are friends and partners in the efforts to make not only our countries but also the region stronger, safer and more prosperous,” she explained.
In economic terms, Prattipati emphasized that our trade relations are growing noticeably.
Just last month, several new American companies opened their doors here in Kosovo. These are important moments for the deepening of economic relations between the two countries.
Prattipati also emphasized that the partnership is not just about what the US achieves for itself, but that America’s power also helps to strengthen its partners.
Because a more prosperous America will also strengthen others – from growing economic ties to security cooperation that strengthens regional stability. Kosovo is a clear example of this successful partnership, he said.
“We understand Kosovo’s path. Their story is similar to ours. We have walked this path before and continue to walk it together with you,” Prattipati said, among other things./RTKlive/
