Ukrainian officials have reported a powerful explosion in central Kiev. The site of the blast is located between the southern railway station and the Ibis Hotel, in the area near the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The office of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy told the AP that the attack was carried out with a rocket.
Officials said it was still unclear about the damage caused by the rocket attack and whether there were casualties.
The Southern Railway Station is one of two stations used by passengers, and thousands of people have used the railway stations for shelter since the outbreak of war on February 24.
The two stations are connected by a corridor that passes through dozens of rails.
The stations are located about 3 kilometers away from Maidan Square, which was the scene of major protests in 2014.
