Osmani: Serbia is Russia’s tool to undo US achievements in the region

President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani said that Serbia is continuing to follow the old policy of the former president Slobodan Milosevic, becoming Russia’s tool for destabilizing Kosovo and the Western Balkans, all with the intent of destroying the achievements that have been made by the United States in the past decades in the region.

Osmani stressed that the history of Kosovo is a success story and stressed that Kosovo is supported by its biggest allies, especially the United States.

“When we talk about Kosovo, we mostly talk in the context of the war. Some people in the world think that the war in Kosovo started in 2011, when the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia began”, said Osmani in New York, at the Institute for Foreign Policy at Johns Hopkins University.

She also spoke about Russia’s destructive policy in the Western Balkans region, claiming that the regime in Serbia continues to follow the same mentality, using different strategies, trying to create the so-called great Serbian world.

She stressed that Russia has specific interests in the region and is it not only about the destabilization of Kosovo, but Moscow wants to cancel everything that United States has achieved in the last three decades, that, as she said, are stability and democracy.
