In July 2026, more civilians were killed or injured than in any other month since March 2022, the United Nations Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (UN) announced today.
According to data from the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine, at least 437 civilians were killed and 2.610 others were injured during July.
These figures represent an increase of 30 percent compared to June and 70 percent compared to July 2025.
"The number of civilians killed is the highest recorded since May 2022," the UN mission said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the total number of civilians killed and injured during July was the highest recorded in a single month since March 2022.
The UN has warned that the real figures could be even higher as the process of verifying cases continues. The rise in the number of victims is linked to the intensification of attacks by Russian forces on cities and populated areas in Ukraine.
