The arrest of the hooligans, among whom were members of the Janjičari fan group, who invaded and demolished the Committee club, was prevented by the Secretary General of the Government, because he agreed with the owner of the club to withdraw the statement made at the beginning of the investigation, with a promise not to touch it again and to will compensate him for the damage caused. After that, the owner of the club gave up the prosecution, and now Belivuk’s group is charged with seven murders, writes NIN in the new issue.
The long-standing suspicions that the Secretary General of the Government of Serbia, Novak Nedic, was connected to the group led by Veljko Belivuk – Velja Nevolja, were clearly not unfounded. This is concretely confirmed by the Official Note of the Department for Suppression of Blood and Sexual Delicts the Belgrade Police dated October 11, 2018, which NIN had access to.
Five days earlier, on October 6, a group of about 30 hooligans broke into the Committee club, among whom were identified members of the “Janjicari” fan group, later renamed Principe, led by Belivuk. According to the official note, Vladimir Macar, the owner of the Komitet club in Belgrade’s Beton Hall, told the police that Novak Nedic and Veljko Belivuk asked him to solve the problem with the Partizan fans who broke into his club – amicably.
The note states that the police officers of this department spoke with Macar on the phone on October 10, 2018 and invited him to come to the police the next day with his employee, club security guard Nikola Bozic, for the so-called identification of the persons who broke into his club in Karadjordjeva Street. According to the note, Macar told the police officers that he could not come “because the previous day he received a call from an important person and that he must meet with him first, and then he will contact the police officers.”
The next day, on October 11, Macar called the police officers and said that he wanted to see them, but not in the official premises. The note specifies that they met him half an hour later at 3:30 p.m., at the Mykonos Cafe Bar on Charlie Chaplin Street.
On that occasion, Macar stated that on October 10, 2018 (the day before), Novak Nedić, the Secretary General of the Government of Serbia, contacted him and said that they should meet and talk, and that he had scheduled an appointment on October 11, 2018 in the Club of Deputies for an interview.
Mačar went to the Club of Deputies and met with Nedic, where the latter told him that the problem he had with the Partizan fans should be resolved by agreement, and not through the police, and that they are ready for an agreement, as well as to compensate him financially for the damage that took place in the club, but before that he must withdraw his statement that he gave to the police, as well as that he must not recognize anyone from the persons who broke in and beat the guests in his club that night,” states the official note of the police.
The police inspectors then noted that Mačar told them that he asked Nedić who would guarantee him that everything would be “sorted out” and that he would not have any more problems with the fans, to whom Nedic, as written in the note, replied ” that he personally guarantees him and that after that he called Veljko Belivuk alias Velja Nevolja and scheduled a meeting with him on the same day at 2 pm”.
According to the official note, Macar told the police that he insisted that Nedic go with him to the meeting with Belivuk, but that the Secretary General of the Government replied “that he cannot go with him, because now is not a good time and that the situation is “hot” and that it would not be good for someone to see him with Belivuk, and once again mentioned to him that he is free to go to that meeting”.
Macar told the inspectors that on the day he spoke with them, he also met Belivuk in a cafe in the Aviv shopping center on Zvezdara around 2 pm.
“He was promised that everything will be forgotten, that he will never have a problem with them again, that it was all a misunderstanding and that the amount for the material damage that was caused in the club will be paid on the same day – 4,600 euros.” After that, Belivuk informed him and showed him that he had pictures of the statements made by him and his security guard Nikola Božović in the police, and that they had to change that, they had to give other statements in which they would not mention any of them, it says in an official note that NIN had access to.
It also states that after that, Macar informed the police that he had spoken to Belivuk about another incident, unrelated to the break-in at his Komitet club, which also points to the possibility that the fan leader had information from the police, as the note goes on to say:
“During the conversation with Belivuk, Vladimir found out that about ten days ago a certain Isakovic was shot in the legs at Zvezdara, and that Partizan fans Damjan Šobić and Milan Krasic also took part in it, and that they have information that the police will soon arrest them.”/NIN
