NATO Allies have said in a statement that they are deeply concerned by Russia’s recent malign activities on Alliance territory, including those that have led to investigations and indictments of numerous individuals in connection with hostile state activities in the Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and the United Kingdom.
NATO states that these incidents are part of a campaign to intensify activities that Russia continues to conduct throughout the Euro-Atlantic area, including on Alliance territory and through proxies. This includes sabotage, acts of violence, cyber and electronic intrusions, disinformation campaigns and other hybrid operations.
NATO allies express their deep concern about Russia’s hybrid actions, which pose a threat to the security of allies.
“We support and stand in solidarity with the Allies affected. We will act individually and collectively to address these actions and continue to coordinate closely. “We will continue to increase our resilience and deploy and enhance the tools at our disposal to deter and counter Russian hybrid actions and ensure that the Alliance and its allies are prepared to deter and defend against hybrid actions or attacks,” the communiqué reads.
“We condemn Russia’s behavior and call on Russia to live up to its international obligations, just like their allies do,” the communiqué continues.
NATO says Russia’s actions will not prevent allies from continuing to support Ukraine
