“NATO is falling apart”, disinformation from Peskov published in the Serbian Informer

“Comrade in Europe, NATO is splitting up?! Russia made an urgent announcement, an unexpected news shocked the continent”. The article published with this title is another piece of disinformation about NATO’s North Atlantic Alliance published on Monday in the Serbian newspaper “Informer”.

The statement was made by Putin’s spokesman, Dmitry Peskov.

What did Peskov say?

“Moscow is closely following the debates on the creation of a European military alliance without the participation of the USA. It is not a new idea, but Europe has remained focused on NATO until today. Independent security policy planning, namely independent identity when it comes to protecting one’s own security in the European Union, has been considered for more than a decade. So far, the Europeans have not succeeded in anything, but so far they have stayed true to their approach to NATO.”
