Dejan Mirović, professor of law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Pristina based in the north of Mitrovica, has raised suspicions about a possible case of espionage against the European Union, directly linking the matter to Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
According to Mirović, the materials that have been made public — and are suspected to have been taken from the phone of Serbian official Igor Popović — show that the latter eavesdropped on EU officials during talks in Brussels, within the framework of the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue.
He emphasizes that this is the essence of the entire political scandal taking place, but which is being carefully hidden by the Serbian authorities.
“This is the main topic being concealed from the Serbian public. Everyone is ‘washing their hands’ to avoid responsibility for a grave act — spying on European officials, which, in all likelihood, was ordered by President Vučić himself,” Mirović told the newspaper Danas.
