After Sunday’s protest in Jarinje, KFOR has increased its military presence in the north.
According to their reasoning, this was done after the presence of Serbian and Russian criminal groups inside the protest.
“After active coordination with all parties, KFOR has increased its presence in Jarinje for security reasons. This increase in security comes as a result of the possible presence of organized criminal groups within the protesters,” KFOR’s justification states, The Geopost reports.
Furthermore, KFOR says it is fully focused on the day-to-day implementation of its mandate given by the United Nations Security Council.
“KFOR is fully focused on the day-to-day implementation of its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 – to provide a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement, for the benefit of to all communities living in Kosovo”, concludes the reaction.

A little while ago, the right-wing Serbian protest in Jarinje, at the border point with Kosovo, ended. This event took place on the side of the territory of Serbia, as a sign of support for the barricades that the local Serbs have erected in the north of Kosovo, and which are supported by the Belgrade regime.
The call for protest was made by right-wing groups, such as the “National Patrol”, as well as a call for other supporters from Serbia, Montenegro and Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina to join the organization.
Among them is Damjan Knezevic, the head of the far-right group “National Patrol” from Serbia, who is related to Danilo Vucic, who is the son of the Serbian president, Aleksandar Vucic.
The “National Patrol” is known for its actions against immigrants, for glorifying Serbian war criminals and supporting Russia in its war in Ukraine. The organization is linked to the far-right group “Rusov” and the Russian paramilitary group “Wagner”, which it recently visited in Russia.
Some of the roads in the north of Kosovo continue to be blocked for the ninth day in a row. /The Geopost/
