Problems with the Internet service in the institutions of Kosovo, according to the spokesman of the Government, Perparim Kryeziu, are the result of a cyber attack.
He said in a Facebook post on September 6 that the attacks were identified by a team from the Information Society Agency’s cyber security sector in collaboration with outside experts.
“The cyber attack did not penetrate the infrastructure of the state computer network because it was blocked by the relevant security equipment,” Kryeziu said.
“It was identified that the cyber attack came from outside Kosovo, and the target was the IP address on which several internet pages of the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo were published,” he said, without specifying which country outside of Kosovo was in question.
Kryeziu said that the situation is currently stable, that the Internet service, as well as other online services and websites, are functional and available./RSE
