United States Ambassador in Kosovo Jeffrey Hovenier said that the attackers on KFOR, police and journalists in the events in the north should be held accountable, but there is no need for special police to carry out ordinary functions.
“There are circumstances that require specialized police units with specialized equipment to perform specialized tasks. I will not deny that and I agree with that. We condemn the attacks against KFOR; we condemn the attacks against the Kosovo police; “We condemn the attacks against journalists,” Hovenier said at Rubicon in Klan Kosova.
“If you read the report of Foreign Minister Blinken’s telephone conversation with President Vučić on Monday, he also stressed that those who attacked KFOR must be held accountable.” Of course, I would say the same about the police and journalists. “But this does not mean that you need a specialized police force to take over everyday tasks,” the American ambassador stressed.
