Hamas agrees to complete disarmament, Trump announces Israel's withdrawal from Gaza

Hamas has accepted an agreement for the complete disarmament of itself and all other armed groups in the Gaza Strip.

US President Donald Trump announced that, after the completion of this process, Israeli forces will withdraw from Palestinian territory.

Trump described the agreement as a "historic step" towards peace and security, announcing that its implementation would take place in well-defined phases, Reuters writes.

According to him, after the disarmament is completed, an International Stabilization Force, along with a new Palestinian police force, will take responsibility for security in Gaza.

Under the plan, Hamas and other Palestinian factions will hand over their weapons to a Palestinian national committee, with the process monitored by an international verification mechanism. The disarmament will be directly linked to the gradual withdrawal of the Israeli military from Gaza.

However, Israeli officials remain skeptical that Hamas will implement the agreement, while representatives of the Palestinian movement have stressed that they will not take steps to disarm until Israel begins withdrawing from Gaza and respects the obligations of the agreement.

Trump thanked Egypt, Qatar and Turkey for brokering the talks, saying the agreement represents a turning point in implementing his 20-point plan for peace in Gaza.
