It is important that the situation in Kosovo remains calm and that there are no confrontations like those in 2023/24. Kosovo and Serbia must take concrete steps to implement the Brussels Basic Agreement and the Ohrid Annex of 2023. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on Tuesday during his visit to Kosovo, thanking the country for its stance in the face of Russian disinformation.
“The normalization dialogue must continue and is an evaluation criterion for the governments of both countries,” he said. At a joint press conference with President Vjosa Osmani, the German diplomat emphasized that the enlargement of the European Union was a geopolitical necessity. Kosovo is a symbol of democracy for many in the region, he said.
“It is good that Kosovo is on our side. All of us, whether EU members or not, must make it unmistakably clear to Russia that destabilization, disinformation, and manipulation have no place on our continent. We will respond to attempts at destabilization with a united Europe,” he said.
Wadephul emphasized the importance of keeping the security situation in Kosovo calm and avoiding confrontations such as those that occurred in 2023, when the Serbian terrorist attack took place in Banjska.
“It is important that the situation remains calm and that there are no confrontations like those in 2023/24,” he said, according to The Geopost./The Geopost/
