French Environment and Energy Minister Barbara Pompili said she was confident the European Union would reach a consensus by the end of the week on how to end Russian oil imports.
“Some countries are more dependent on Russian oil than others and therefore we should try to find solutions so that these countries agree on sanctions,” she told France Info radio.
“But I think we will be able to do that,” she added.
This week, France hosted an urgent meeting of EU energy ministers to discuss Moscow’s decision to cut off gas supplies to Bulgaria and Poland because the two countries have refused to pay. in rubles for Russian supplies.
