The arrest of five individuals suspected of collaborating with the Serbian intelligence service (BIA) in just over a year (three Albanians and two Serbs) demonstrates Serbia’s ongoing efforts to destabilize [Kosovo] and confirms the success of our institutions in uncovering and dismantling Serbian intelligence networks in Kosovo.
This is what acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti stated in a Facebook post, adding that all of this is the result of successful operations led by the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI), in cooperation with the Police and the Prosecutor’s Office.
“The cases include: attempts to rewrite history with the aim of tarnishing the Kosovo Liberation Army’s (KLA) war and denying the Reçak massacre; infiltration into international organizations and extremist religious circles with the aim of undermining the security and image of the state. One of the suspects (A.V.), after being confronted with the evidence, has already confessed. AKI, in cooperation with local and international mechanisms, has demonstrated extraordinary efficiency, advanced analytical and operational capabilities in defending sovereignty and constitutional order. I call on citizens to remain vigilant and engaged in the efforts for a stable and resilient Kosovo against any form of threat. The successful handling of these cases should serve as an example for increasing awareness and strengthening the common front for national security,” he wrote.
