
US Deputy Assistant, Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, Gabriel Escobar stressed his concern about “rooted corruption” in Montenegro, during an official visit to Podgorica on Wednesday.
Escobar, according to the US Embassy in Montenegro, encouraged Montenegro to continue playing a constructive role in addressing regional challenges.
During his visit, he met with the Montenegrin President, Milo Djukanovic.
Escobar stressed the United States’ concern about “rooted corruption in the country” and encouraged Montenegro to continue playing a constructive role in addressing regional challenges, US Embassy in Montenegro tweets.
This is Escobar’s first visit to Montenegro as a special envoy for the Western Balkans.
