The Prime Minister of Serbia, Ana Brnabić, intended to change the message of the European Parliament resolution criticizing interference in Serbia’s elections. The Serbian Prime Minister misinformed when she said that the European Parliament resolution was about the pressure on President Aleksandar Vučić regarding Kosovo, as well as the vote against Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe.
Brnabić made such a claim on Serbian television “TV Pink”.
What did Brnabić say?
“The EP resolution continues the pressure on Serbia, it has nothing to do with the elections.” The resolution is a form of pressure and a form of punishment for two basic things: first, as they say, we are violating the constitutionality of the so-called Kosovo and what the European Parliament is complaining about, and why Aleksandar Vučić insisted decided that Serbia should vote against Kosovo’s so-called membership in the Council of Europe, which was also criticized in the European Parliament resolution of October 2023,” she told TV Pink.

Analysis:
With this claim, Brnabić is misinforming by shifting the issue of the European Parliament to vote theft in Serbia. This attempts to shift the issue that this is happening because of Kosovo.
In its resolution on Serbia, the European Parliament “deplores the fact that numerous important shortcomings have negatively affected the electoral process; expresses its regret at the abuse of institutions and media by those in power in order to gain an unfair advantage; Deplores the aggressive pre-election rhetoric, bias in the media, pressure on public service workers and misuse of public funds, as well as intimidation and harassment of civic activists, LGBTI and other human rights defenders and journalists; looks forward to the final OSCE/ODIHR report and recommendations for the upcoming elections, which should be implemented as soon as possible and in time for the next elections”.
So the resolution does not mention Kosovo or the Council of Europe, with the exception that it is about the implementation of the Ohrid Agreement./G.Venhari-The Geopost/
