The Court of BiH scheduled the session of the Appellate Division for June 12, after which the non-finally convicted President of the RS said that “they have an obligation to defend themselves if someone forces them and pushes them into a corner…”
The Court of BiH has scheduled a public session of the Appellate Division panel in the case against the President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, and the acting director of the Official Gazette, Miloš Lukić, for June 12.
Dodik’s lawyer, Goran Bubic, stated that he had not yet received the summons, but that the defence was ready for the hearing whenever it would take place, and now Dodik himself has also appeared. And from Moscow.
If anyone forces us and pushes us into a corner, or tries to build law on injustice, we have an obligation to defend ourselves, said the non-finally convicted president of the Bosnian entity Republika Srpska in Moscow, commenting on the appeal session scheduled at the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Here we can observe a few facts – this is the same court as in the first instance proceedings. They boast about the system of selecting judges, but it is impossible for them to monitor the selection of Bosniaks in their proceedings. Above all, the most important thing is that the Republika Srpska has rejected the existence of the Court and the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dodik told RTRS.
He added that the whole procedure is proof par excellence of political persecution and that this is being persisted with.
The influence of the former US ambassador was also present. We should also say that, notwithstanding the fact that the Republika Srpska has rejected the activities of the Court and the Prosecutor’s Office, they are continuing to do something, except that there will come a point when everything will be clarified. I have no expectations, we can only speculate that if the Court confirms what has happened, we will be entering a dramatic political situation. We will go to the Republika Srpska authorities and take decisions they will not like, Dodik said.
It should be recalled that in the first-instance judgment of the Court of BiH, he was sentenced to one year in prison for non-execution of the decisions of the High Representative, and was also banned from holding public office for six years from the date of the judgment’s finalisation./Oslobodjene.ba/
