The president of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, continues his harsh and provocative rhetoric, exacerbating the institutional crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina and violating the basic rules of political communication. In a recent statement, Dodik called High Representative Christian Schmidt a “bastard,” attacking not only an international official but also the constitutional order of the state itself.
“He’s not worth it. 24,000 euros a month plus allowances. No official in the EU has that much. Today he seems untouchable, but we will not stop pursuing him legally wherever he goes. Why does he want to stay? Of course, because of the money he has received,” Dodik said, according to The Geopost.
He threatened to “pursue Schmidt legally at every turn,” while he himself is under investigation for abuse of office and violation of the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Challenging the decisions of the High Representative and denying the authority of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina are part of a dangerous strategy pursued by Dodik to lead the country into division and international isolation. While he uses vulgar and nationalist language to maintain his power, the Republika Srpska runs the risk of being abandoned economically and politically./The Geopost/
