Digital Communication Network Global (DCN) held the “Elections Free of Disinformation” conference in Greece from July 9-10, 2024. The aim of this event was to develop innovative strategies to combat disinformation in the upcoming elections. Ideton (idea generation and problem identification event) is part of DCN Global’s ongoing commitment to promote a transparent and informed electoral process.
Since the beginning of 2024, DCN has initiated several projects aimed at equipping individuals with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the complex digital landscape. Throughout the year, DCN Global has organized a series of online discussions bringing together experts in digital communications, policy analysis and cybersecurity. These discussions have provided insights into effective strategies to combat disinformation around the world. In addition, DCN has published a dedicated monthly newsletter on Substack highlighting relevant trends and insights on electoral disinformation.
In addition, the DCN Elections Global Telegram Channel served as a platform for sharing information and informing about developments in election integrity efforts. The idea served as an opportunity to build on these ongoing initiatives. Participants developed effective digital campaigns to combat disinformation in the upcoming elections. In addition, analysts from countries where recent elections have taken place, including the European Parliament elections in June 2024, come together in person to discuss innovative solutions and actionable strategies to protect the integrity of the information space in electoral contexts around the world./The Geopost/
