Regarding the appearance and interview of the President of the Republic, Aleksandar Vučić, on the show “Ćirilica Milomira Marića,” appearance, made shameful claims with which, as they state, he belittled and criminalized the public prosecutors of this office.
The statement says that, in the assessment of the Collegium, the President of the Republic thereby exceeded and abused his powers granted by law and the Constitution, and attempted to exert inappropriate and impermissible influence on this prosecutor’s office by commenting on current criminal investigations.
“With insulting and untrue statements, Aleksandar Vučić is once again targeting the acting prosecutors and attempting, from the position of authority and power of the President of the Republic, to exert an impermissible influence on the outcome of initiated proceedings, by asserting that these are ‘fabricated cases’.”
“Such impermissible statements by the President of the Republic, which belittle and slander the holders of judicial functions, in addition to the effort to create an image of illegal conduct and an atmosphere of lynching in the public, directly obstruct justice, which undermines the constitutional and legal order and the rule of law,” the statement concludes./Danas/
