The UK government will unveil plans to support green trade as part of its goal to divert the world from Russian oil and gas.
International Trade Secretary Anne-Marie Trevelyan will have a speech today in support of British companies exporting technology to help with the transition to cleaner forms of energy.
“The combination of sanctions against Russia and reduced dependence on fossil fuels will ‘de-Putinize’ the world economy,” she said in a speech in London.
Britain’s green economy is projected to grow at 11% per year by 2030, and by 2050 over 1.2 million people could be directly employed in the low-carbon goods and services sectors, a sixfold increase from today.
