Following the announcement of Russia’s potential plan to invade Ukraine, there have been numerous reactions from important figures in global political life.
Former Swedish Prime Minister Carl Bildt, through a post on the social network Twitter, has expressed his concern about Russia’s malicious plans against Ukraine.
Bildt has said that if the invasion of Ukraine takes place, there will be a major war in Europe, with profound consequences.
According to him, not only Russia and Ukraine would be involved in this case, but this conflict would widely expand.
According to the United States, the invasion of Ukraine by Russia could occur as early as 2022.
This issue will be discussed by US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, December 7, via a telephone conversation.
According to the White House, in this conversation Biden will convey “the US concern about the activities of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine and will reaffirm the United States’ support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
This plan has aroused reactions in Kosovo as well.
The former ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Sweden, at the same time the director of the KIPRED research institute, Lulzim Peci, has considered the situation in this part of Europe as alarming.
He said that in the planned telephone conversation between the two leaders there could be an escalation, which would produce hardly imaginable consequences for the security of the continent, including the Balkans.
Russia, meanwhile, continues to deny a potential invasion, accusing Western nations of misinforming and deliberately escalating the situation.
In a post on the social network Twitter, the Russian Embassy in the United Kingdom says that the intelligence services of the USA and the United Kingdom are artificially inciting hysteria over the issue of Ukraine, in order to blame Russia if the “Kiev adventurers attack the Donbass region ”.
The situation between Ukraine and Russia remains very worrying. It remains to be seen whether this situation will be resolved through diplomacy.
