The news that a critic of Vladimir Putin’s regime – Vladimir Kara-Murza – has been sentenced to 25 years in prison in Russia was greeted in Serbia with a reminder of the affair in which the main actor was the current head of the BIA, Aleksandar Vulin, and the former Minister of Police, who, according to Kara-Murza’s allegations, provided the Kremlin with information about meetings of Russian opposition members in Belgrade in 2021.
As he stated in an interview for Nova. rs, the recordings were given to Nikolai Patrushev, the secretary for national security in the Kremlin, after which his colleague Andrey Pivovarov was arrested.
In that interview in early 2022, he said: “Last May (2021), Vulin was in Moscow to hand over the transcripts of our talks from the Belgrade meeting. Then he met Patrushev and they set up the so-called Working Group for the Struggle against Colour Revolutions”.
Putin is the Hitler of the 21st century, Russia is the Third Reich
The Russian Federation, led by Vladimir Putin, is currently a Nazi state. As such, it behaves in accordance with Nazi traditions. It is engaged in eliminating differences in every way, and all of this can absolutely be identified with the events in Germany. Just as the disobedient Germans and opponents of Hitler were the first to arrive in the concentration camps in Germany, so, too, in Russia, there are camps in what are euphemistically called ‘maximum security’ prisons, which were first brought in by internal enemies. It is absolutely clear that no one will come out of them alive, Nenad Čanak, former President of the The League of Social Democrats of Vojvodina, told Danas.
Putin as the Hitler of the 21st century, he adds, uses the same reasoning as his historical predecessor, i.e. the idea that Russia was always for peace, that it would never have been at war, but that it had to, in order to protect the rights of its people who were being abused in Ukraine …
The propaganda matrix, Čanak notes, is also in the same direction as it was in Hitler’s time.
Vulin is a person with a complex who is fascinated by the power and strength that unlimited power gives
To whom Aleksandar Vulin transmitted information about the enemies of that system … He is more than obviously on friendly terms with people in the Kremlin, as fascinated by the force and power that unlimited power gives, as any person with a complex. So it is not at all unclear why and how he is the poodle of that Kremlin, and why and how he is so impressed by that Russian ruthlessness and unconcealed contempt for human life and human rights – says Danas interlocutor.
Asked why Vucic keeps him in government and in power, why he keeps moving him from one place to another, given that Russia is called the Ministry of Power, Nenad Canak points out that Vucic has repeatedly made it clear that the Russians would kill him if he disobeyed.
The most graphic example of this was when, a few years ago, a dog was strangled in front of his eyes during an official visit to Russia as part of some kind of experiment. It was a clear message that if it can happen to a dog, it can happen to anyone. And besides, the security structures in Serbia have not been reformed since 5 October … Vulin is part of a service that is blindly loyal to the Kremlin, which is what Vucic fears. For his life. Vučić is not afraid of Vulin, but of those whose servant Vulin is – says Čanak.
Vulin receives selective information in the BIA
The furthest he could go, he said, was to make Vulin the fictitious head of the BIA.
I am absolutely convinced that there are other people working for Vučić’s needs within the BIA, and that Vulin is receiving selective information. You see, from the post of Minister of Defence, then to the post of Chief of Police and then to the post of Chief of the BIA, so this is clearly part of the Kremlin’s impression of the ministries of force, because Vojislav Kostunica himself, remember, was part of the structure that honestly defended access to anyone from these structures and any possibility of reformation . …, I want to say that both Koštunica and the DSS have always insisted on these ministries of force … – says Nenad Canak .
Then you also had the minister Nenad Popovic from this DSS, he remembers, who was always in the government and nobody knew why …
The Kremlin has always insisted that the government has its own spies who, from the very source of the information, to a large extent even influence the country’s policy. I would like to say that Russia is the Third Reich of the 21st century and Putin is the Hitler of the 21st century. Vučić, in fear of being killed, he and his family, are simply trying to, on the one hand, have some kind of relations with the West, and on the other, not to anger the Kremlin too much – Čanak explains.
Serbia depends to a large extent on money from the EU, but also on the possible imposition of sanctions that Serbia would not be able to withstand, he notes, in terms of a serious economic collapse, which would then be more catastrophic even than those imposed under Slobodan Milošević./Danas/
