Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić continues to be insulting to Kosovo’s leaders whenever he gets the chance.
Vučić used a Nazi dictionary and was not only “tough” with the West, but this time he also insulted Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, calling him “Gauleiter”.
“They think they can use force to make the Serbs want an independent Kosovo. Nobody will go to the police container and vote for the occupying Gauleiter Albin Kurti,” Vucic said on the eve of local elections in the four municipalities in northern Kosovo.
Gauleiter was the head of the regional branch of the Nazi Party or the leader of a “Gau” or territory in Nazi Germany.
According to journalist Albert Spahiu, Vucic’s language is Russian-style, recalling that Russian President Vladimir Putin also used such language against Zelenskyy on the eve of Russian military aggression in Ukraine.
“The threat of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić to Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti to call him ‘Gauleiter’ is in Russian style – that’s how Vladimir Putin started calling Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his Nazi way before the military aggression in Ukraine began,” Spahiu wrote on Twitter.

Likewise, Vučić, through a public appearance, accused the West and said that they are playing a circus.
“As for Jablanovic and his decision, it is wise. No more than 100 of them will come out tomorrow. They are playing a circus and they think that they can force the Serbs to love independent Kosovo by paying some media and non-governmental organizations. But they won’t, they have united Serbs with the same mindset,” Vucic said.
Serbian radicals used it somewhat more often in dealing with their political opponents. Former radical leader Vojislav Seselj had called Vuk Drashkovic a “Gauleiter.”
Even radical MP Elena Bozic Talian, in a 2008 speech to the then U.S. ambassador to Serbia, said, ” Gauleiter Manter is sitting in the middle of Belgrade, bragging about how he is putting pressure on the countries that have not recognized his independence [of Kosovo], as soon as possible.” /The Geopost/
