Jugoslav Petrovic, wanted for a robbery case registered in 2022 in Leposavić, was arrested by the Kosovo Police on 02.02.2026. He was arrested by the police after being on the detention list.
As Gazetaexpress reports, Petrovic is also suspected of the murder of Bosniak activist Shefko Sallkovic and the wounding of Edin Islamovic in the village of Podstenje, Leposavic, an event that occurred in December 2010. According to the same sources, Petrovic was part of the Serbian special police units, which had also operated during the war in Kosovo, including operations in the Prekaz area.
The case of the murdered Shefko Sallkovic has returned to the spotlight after a public post by Prime Minister Albin Kurti, who commemorated the activist as a symbol of civic resistance and institutional integration in the north of the country.
In his post, Kurti emphasized that investigations had shown that individuals linked to Serbian security structures were responsible for the murder, mentioning the names of Jugoslav Petrovic and Radomir Delic as suspected of involvement.

Regarding this case, Kurti emphasized that the murder of Salkovic was an attack aimed at spreading fear and panic among those trying to integrate into Kosovo's institutions, especially in the northern municipalities inhabited mainly by Serbs.
The court has imposed a 30-day detention order on Jugoslav Petrovic.
