Albanian information systems are today facing a “massive cyber attack that has never happened before”, the government of Albania announced today in a statement, speaking of “enemy attacks”.
The National Agency of the Information Society (AKSHI) announced that as a result “it has been forced to temporarily close access to online public services and other government websites because we are facing a synchronized and sophisticated cybercriminal attack from outside Albania”. AKSHI specified that “in order to face these unprecedented and dangerous attacks, we have been forced to shut down government systems until the neutralization of the enemy attacks”.
The agency further stated that it is “on full alert and is working all the time with the Microsoft team, the Jones Group International team, and the teams of Albanian companies in the field of Information Technology, to prevent this cyber attack from damage or harm the Albanian information systems”./VOA
