A company that wants to mine Vučić’s calcite at the same address as Veselinović’s and Radoičić’s companies

President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic presented as an epochal discovery the mineral calcite, which was also found by the Belkal Han company during its explorations almost a decade ago. At that time, it did not have the capacity to enter into a mining project, but things could change now that the company “Mistik Minerals Kop” has entered its ownership structure. Interestingly, this company’s representative office is located at the same address as Doli Bel, which is co-owned by Zvonko Veselinović and Milan Radoičić, as well as some other companies that have often received business from the state.

The President of the municipality of Gadžin Han, Saša Đorđević, told journalists in 2014 that money was a barrier to the calcite mine on Suva planina not being opened. At that time, he said that the company that had acquired the exploration right and was preparing the documentation for the exploitation right could not carry out the entire project on its own and was looking for a business partner, i.e. a co-investor.

“They have not found a suitable company yet, but they have not given up since the mine opened,” Dorđević said.

He was actually talking about the company “Belkal Han”, which was founded in 2010, but little is known about it. However, compared to the period of its establishment and the search for a business partner, its ownership structure has changed, so that as of the very end of 2018, Mistik Minerals Kop has a share in this company, which is 100% owned by the offshore company from Cyprus “Ipox holdings LTD”.

When you look at the basic information about it in the APR, you see that its head office is located at Partizanskaa avijacija 4, on the second floor. The same address, including the floor, also houses the companies “Emporio team” and “V.I.P. security”. The latter is also owned by the Cypriot company ‘Maar investments LTD’. Both it and ‘Ipox Holdings LTD’, which is behind ‘Mistik Minerals Kop’, are registered at the same address in Nicosia.

It is also interesting to note that there is another well-known company – ‘Doli Bel’ – located at 4 Partizanske avijacije 4, only on the third floor. This company is 100% owned by Inkop from Ćuprija, whose owners are the brothers Žarko and Zvonko Veselinović and Milan Radoičić. This construction company is often involved in large infrastructure projects in the country, usually as a subcontractor.

Both Zvonko Veselinović and Milan Radoičić are well known to the Serbian public and are mentioned in the indictment for involvement in the murder of Oliver Ivanović. They and several of their companies first came under US sanctions on the grounds that they belonged to corrupt networks linked to international organised crime.

Great Britain also recently introduced sanctions against them. For Milan Radoičić, the British alleged that he profited from the abuse of state contracts and that he used his influence to award lucrative contracts to construction companies owned by him.

The explanation stated that Zvonko Veselinović used public contracts to appropriate state funds.

“God has looked at us”

According to representatives of the authorities, as well as the Belkal Han company, whoever digs up the calcite from Suva Planina will be digging up extremely pure natural calcium carbonate.

Vucic recently revealed that gold, as well as the mineral calcite of extremely high purity, had been found in one of the poorest areas of Serbia, saying ” God looked at us”.

“This calcite is the purest here. It is located somewhere south of Niš, south of Gadžin Han”, he said.

The Ministry of Mines and Energy said that its use is extremely wide, with applications in almost every industry – from paints, plastics, paper, to raw materials for pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food additives, and the chemical industry. They also reported that they are successfully exploring the possibility of using calcium to produce batteries that could replace lithium batteries.

Vasa Antić, one of the co-owners of the company “Belkal Han”, also spoke about the mineral calcite. He said that a deposit of calcite with a purity of up to 99.99 per cent, the highest in the world, had been found on Suva planina.

“This mineral is abundant in nature, but it is not present in this large wire, so pure and free from admixtures of cadmium, lead, mercury, magnesium. We have purity up to 99.99 per cent, and the average is 99.63. There are only five mines in the world with a purity of ours, and this wire is one of the largest in the world. All the mines of this mineral in Serbia are also surface mines and do not have this purity, which is underground,” Antic said.

He has a 20 % stake in Belkal Han, Vladislav Miladinovic has a 30 % stake and Mistik Minerals Kop owns 50 % of the company./Nova S/
