The difference between the two lists clearly shows the extent of the political loss of power. The students have 35 more mandates than Vučić's list, while the citizens, according to these projections, after 14 years have decided to open a new chapter.
According to CeSID and Ipsos data, based on 56 percent of the processed sample, the student list won 52 percent of the votes, while Vučić's coalition received 39,3 percent.
CeSID and Ipsos confirm the convincing lead of students
The projection of the distribution of mandates shows that the student list could win 139 seats in the Assembly, while Vučić's list could win 104.
From the other electoral lists, according to the same projection, Rasim Ljajic's list wins one mandate, the League of Hungarians of Vojvodina three mandates, the SDA of Sandzak one mandate, and the Albanian Coalition two mandates.
Particularly significant is the fact that Ivica Dacic's list, "Stability Factor", according to this projection, has failed to win a single mandate.
Albanian Coalition wins two mandates
According to CeSID and Ipsos projections, based on 56 percent of the processed sample, the Albanian Coalition has won 0,8 percent of the vote, securing two mandates in the Serbian Parliament.
Thus, the political representatives of Albanians will have their representation in the new composition of the People's Assembly of Serbia.
After 14 years, citizens demand change
Election night was accompanied by celebrations at student headquarters and on the streets of various cities in Serbia. Students celebrated the victory with the song "Serbia is Awakening," while citizens took to the streets to celebrate the result.
Vučić has already admitted that his list has lost the elections, while the latest projections by CeSID and Ipsos further confirm the magnitude of this loss.
After 14 years of political dominance, the results shown by the first projections constitute a major blow to the government and a powerful message from citizens that they want a different Serbia. /The Geopost/
