The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has received an official invitation from the President of the United States, Joe Biden, to participate in the Summit for Democracy, which will be held on December 9 and 10. "I thank President Biden for the invitation to the Summit for Democracy organized by the White House, as well as the appreciation for the partnership offered by Kosovo to work towards building a democratic society that respects human rights, which enables every citizen to fulfill their potential," the President announced.
Osmani emphasized that the invitation came after meetings he had last week in Washington.
"Following last week's productive meetings in Washington, in which I was informed that Kosovo will be part of this Summit, I am honored to accept the invitation from President Biden. The Republic of Kosovo is a shining example of the continuous efforts for freedom and democracy. As such, it is a model for our region and beyond. Kosovo will share its unique experience in building democratic institutions and practices, in extraordinary partnership with our international friends - where the United States of America has played a friendly role," emphasized President Osmani.
At the Democracy Summit, the President emphasized that she will present Kosovo's achievements and challenges.
"I am happy that on behalf of the Republic of Kosovo, I will present the achievements and challenges we have, and we will jointly commit to implementing an ambitious plan over the next 12 months to further strengthen our young democracy so that our citizens can feel the benefits of democratic leadership based on the rule of law, human rights and social inclusion," said President Osmani.
