Igor Popovic, assistant director of the so-called "Office for Kosovo" in the Government of Serbia, was detained today by the Kosovo Police at the Brnjak border crossing and escorted to the police station for further procedures.
Dukagjini, through his own sources, has confirmed the news, emphasizing that the ban is related to a public statement made by Popovic during a visit to Rahovec.
According to initial information, Popovic has used offensive and provocative language towards the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), describing it as a "terrorist organization" and comparing it to serious international events.
He has also accused international institutions of, as he put it, "failure of justice", claiming that "the perpetrators of crimes against Serbs have never been punished".
Kosovo Police announces that it is continuing with the procedures in this case, while the authorities are expected to provide more details regarding the legal basis for the detention of the Serbian official and further steps within the framework of the investigation.
