The resignations of the Serbs from the Kosovo institutions are considered to have taken place in full coordination between Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and the Russians, and that the cooperation between Belgrade and the Kremlin is always aimed at destabilizing the countries of the Western Balkans.
Security expert Gynen Venhari says that all this happened after Serbia’s rejection of the Franco-German plan. He says it is in the interest of the Serbian state to escalate the situation in the north of the country, adding that Kosovo must constantly coordinate with its allies.
He states that Serbia’s recent actions aim to block Kosovo in further processes and hold hostage the reaching of the final agreement.
“It is normal that the escalation and destabilization of the situation is always in favor of Serbia, and according to the information we have and the first analyzes of the Serbian media news on Saturday, we noticed that the coordination of all this protest and all this initiative of politicians. Every time they can and are expected to destabilize the north of Kosovo in order to block Kosovo in further processes as well as distancing as much as possible of the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia, Serbia will use the north for the escalation of the situation in the north”, says Venhari.
The The director of The Geopost gives special importance to Kosovo’s relations with the United States of America and other international factors.
“Kosovo needs to coordinate with its allies every moment, and we have no other alternative. I hope that there will be no further destabilization. Our institutions must be vigilant and coordinate with the international factor,” he stressed in an interview for KosovaPress.
In his opinion, the vigilance of Kosovo’s institutions should be increased in view of the fact that Vucic always tries to find excuses to shift the dialogue to other things.
“We, as a team of The Geopost, have analyzed these events and the rejection of the Franco-German plan now by Vucic has resulted in all these events which have been quite well coordinated in their aspect”.
“Serbia always finds excuses and obstacles to block or postpone the dialogue or the final agreement between Kosovo and Serbia. The situation was quite serious and for me quite disturbing the meeting on Saturday with the Russian ambassador in Belgrade, Aleksandar Botsan-Kharchenko, and after Saturday all these protests and events have started in the north, which were probably coordinated between Vučić and his Russian allies and destabilization of Kosovo by illegal structures in the north, as well as security structures, which in most cases have the influence of Russian intelligence on security structures to destabilize and challenge not only Kosovo but also the West in its own cases”, he added.
Venhari emphasizes that the resignation of Serbian officials is a challenge to Kosovo’s sovereignty.
“They automatically signed the contracts and are members of the Civil Defense of the North, and it is quite a challenge to the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo, and it is worth seeing what will be the next steps for this whole situation. It is worth mentioning and let’s not forget that the north of the Republic of Kosovo has the greatest influence and the Serbian illegal and criminal structures under the leadership of Milan Radoicic and Zvonko Veselinovic have been blacklisted by the U.S. Treasury Department and it is quite worrying how the state of Serbia does nothing except empowers them. Vucic has empowered them every time for electoral interests and now they are being used by the Serbian president and security structures to destabilize Kosovo through their criminal structures,” Venhari points out.
As for Serb-Russian cooperation, Venhari says it was also seen in the recent protests in northern Mitrovica.
“Russia is not only present in the north of Kosovo, but also the unrest it can cause through the Serbian service and the Serbian state and institutions in Montenegro, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we come to a quite clear conclusion that they always want to impose their issues and destabilize peace in the Balkans”, he says.
In the end, he says Kosovo has enough security capacity to deal with the situation in the north.
“Absolutely, the Republic of Kosovo has its own police and security capacities. There has been a lot of investment, but there should be more investment, but I hope as a citizen of Kosovo that my country has the capacity to control and manage this situation,” Venhari concludes.
From November 5, Serbian officials began resigning from central and local institutional responsibilities in Kosovo. The 10 deputies of the Serbian List have already submitted their mandates.
These measures resulted from the decision to suspend Nenad Gjuric, director of the police in northern Mitrovica, after he refused to implement the Kosovo government’s decision on the registration of license plates. /The Geopost/
