About Us – Balkan Geopolitics

Balkan Geopolitics is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in June 2020, headquartered in Pristina, Republic of Kosovo. Our mission is to combat disinformation in the Balkans, expose fake news, and provide accurate and credible reporting.

The organization was founded with one main goal: to pave the way for the creation of The Geopost, a news portal dedicated to quality investigative journalism.

Our team consists of experienced journalists from across the Balkan region, including Kosovo, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia and Bulgaria. With a deep understanding of regional dynamics and strong professional connections in Sarajevo, Belgrade, Podgorica, Skopje and Sofia, we are uniquely positioned to challenge disinformation and defend journalistic integrity.

As of November 2024, The Geopost became the first news platform in the region to offer coverage in the Ukrainian language, thanks to the contribution of two Ukrainian journalists living in Kosovo.

The Geopost publishes content in four languages: English, Albanian, Serbian, and Ukrainian, reinforcing our commitment to accessible and impactful journalism.

The Geopost was founded with support from grants provided by the US Embassy in Kosovo, TechCamp, and FLOSSK.
