Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova misinforms that the European Union "restricts the sovereign right of states" to develop their foreign policy, calling the current pressure on Belgrade "scandalous."
Zakharova said:
“EU countries continue the practice of restricting the sovereign right of states to implement their foreign policy, using all available means to do so. The current refusal is another scandalous case… No one has the power to destroy Moscow’s strategic partnership with Belgrade.”

No one is forcing Belgrade, but it is expected to respect the basic principles of international law – which includes sanctioning Russia for its aggression against Ukraine.
Also, when Zakharova mentions friendship with Serbia, she does not mention the fact that Serbia is in fact economically dependent on Russian gas, politically compromised by its support for Vladimir Putin's regime. /G.Venhari/
