Serbian Patriarch Porfirije misinformed about the situation of the Serbian people in Kosovo during his main Orthodox Christmas address. He dedicated part of the holiday message to the Serbs in Kosovo, as he said, the most threatened and defenseless people on the European continent.

“We feel the paternal need to send our voice this Christmas first and foremost to our spiritual children in Kosovo… The Serbian nation, in its centuries-old homeland, has been the most threatened and defenseless nation on the European continent for a quarter of a century. Exposed to pressures, arrests, the violent seizure of municipal self-government, the closure of local health services, the seizure of land and other private property, the demolition of cemeteries and cultural monuments, it is constantly afraid and persecuted.”
