Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov continues his disinformation campaign, presenting Russia as a peaceful power pursuing diplomacy, while demonizing the West as "an aggressor seeking hegemony."
Lavrov said:
"Russia will always adhere to diplomatic and political methods in resolving all problems and will resist the West's attempts to solve them by force and threats. All our people, you and your comrades, are making a great contribution to changing the situation and, as the Russian president said, we are paying special attention to saving people," Lavrov said, Sputnik Serbia reports.

Analyze:
While Lavrov talks about peace and diplomacy, the facts say the opposite.
The first major blow to diplomacy was the annexation of Crimea in 2014, which directly violated international law and Ukrainian sovereignty. There was no diplomatic solution, but rather a military action. Then came the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, which began with no sign of a diplomatic solution and despite numerous attempts by the West to resolve the conflict through negotiations.

As for the West's alleged threats, it is Russia that has consistently used threatening rhetoric, including nuclear threats, which have escalated tensions and undermined global stability.
Western governments and analysts have made it clear that support for Ukraine is aimed at protecting its territorial integrity and sovereignty against aggression, not at destroying Russia.
Perhaps the biggest disinformation relates to ‘saving people’. Instead of saving lives, the Russian invasion has resulted in tens of thousands of civilian deaths, the mass displacement of millions of Ukrainians, and the complete destruction of cities and infrastructure. International organizations and independent researchers have documented numerous war crimes, including the killing of civilians, torture, and the forcible deportation of Ukrainian children to Russia. /G.Venhari/
