Maria Zakharova, spokeswoman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, has disinformed that the Western media are allegedly supporting “Ukrainian propaganda” and participating in a hybrid war against Russia.
Zakharova said:
“Western media reports from the Kursk region pursue several goals, including justifying Kiev’s crimes, manipulating public opinion and creating the necessary environment for further Western support of Ukraine’s armed forces.”
A legal assessment of the actions of foreign media correspondents entering the territory of Russia, bypassing the established procedures, is approved by the relevant authorities. “We remind you that criminal proceedings have already been initiated against a number of foreign media representatives for illegally crossing the state border,” Zakharova told ‘VZGLJAD’.
Analysis:
Western media do their job to the highest professional standards and report objectively and impartially on events on the ground, including the situation in Russia and Ukraine.
Accusations of “illegal border crossing” and “propaganda falsification” are typical examples of how the Russian government tries to manipulate information and suppress critical journalism.
With statements like Zakharova’s, the Russian government is trying to create an atmosphere of fear and mistrust towards the West. Such accusations against Western journalists are part of the Kremlin’s broader strategy to maintain control over the narrative and prevent the truth from reaching the Russian people.
It is clear that Zakharova is trying to blame the West for hybrid warfare, while in reality Russia continues to use disinformation as its main weapon to destabilize international relations and support its aggressive policies. These accusations only confirm how much Moscow fears independent journalism and how far it is willing to go to spread lies in order to protect its interests./G.Venhari- The Geopost/
