The West was the target of Russian disinformation last week

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin’s statement that the US and the EU were allegedly organizing a new “battlefield” in Georgia was the next piece of disinformation.

“The US and the EU want to open a new front on the border with Russia, that’s why they have focused on Georgia,” he misinformed in order to distract the public from their internal problems and failures.

The head of Russian diplomacy, Sergei Lavrov, misinformed that the US is trying to maintain global hegemony, which he said is nothing more than a “zero-sum game”. He misinformed by claiming that “Washington orders many countries to cooperate with the U.S. against any competitor.”

Lavrov spreads disinformation and “distorts” facts about Western policy in order to gain support for Russian interests. His statements are part of Russian propaganda aimed at weakening the West’s international reputation and justifying Russia’s aggressive actions on an international level.

“That the West is supplying terrorists with weapons via Kiev” was the next piece of disinformation from Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

“The West is the main supplier of weapons to terrorists – via Kiev they reach Africa, the Middle East and Western Europe.” NATO states supply weapons to a terrorist regime. “The worst thing is that they do this completely uncontrolled,” she claimed during her speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
