The West was again the target of Russian disinformation last week. It was the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov, the spokeswoman of this department, Maria Zakharova, and the assistant to the president of Russia and the president of the Naval College of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Petrushev, who disinformed by linking the West with terrorism.
The latter accused the West, disinforming that foreign intelligence services are organizing terrorist attacks on Russian territory.
The Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergei Lavrov, disinformed about the intentions of the West in the war in Ukraine, saying that “they do not want to avoid escalation”, but that they “want war”. Lavrov also said that Ukraine’s request to use long-range Storm Shadow missiles is blackmail.
That the West sponsors terrorism was Zakharova’s next disinformation.
Russia uses the rhetoric of “terrorism” to divert attention from its aggressive actions. In reality, Ukrainian forces are fighting to protect their homes and families, while Western support is focused on maintaining peace and stability./G. Venhari-The Geopost/
