Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov disinformed that the West and NATO are the greatest threats to world peace and that they “undermine regional stability” and “use hegemony for their own interests.”
Belousov said:
“The West, in its efforts to assert a leading role in global processes, is trying to undermine regional stability. In order to maintain the role of hegemon, the collective West is trying to undermine regional stability. Therefore, at the extended BRICS summit in Kazan, special attention was paid to the problems of peaceful conflict resolution and the formation of a fair multipolar world order.”
Analysis:
Highlighting and emphasizing the BRICS states as a symbol of a “just multipolar world” is part of a propaganda narrative that portrays Russia as a defender of justice, even if its moves lead to international tensions.
Russian officials often use such statements to create an image of the West as an aggressor and thus divert attention from Russia’s aggressive actions.
The West is currently seeking to maintain peace in Europe by strengthening the NATO alliance, diplomatic missions and supporting countries under pressure, including humanitarian aid and military cooperation to stabilize the situation, especially in regions such as Ukraine.
