Pristina and the West shift the blame for everything that happens in Kosovo to Serbia and Russia, the ambassador of the Russian Federation in Serbia Aleksandar Bocan-Kharchenko told RT Balkan, commenting on the accusations of the Pristina authorities that the explosion in which the Ibar-Lepenac canal was damaged was a terrorist act by Belgrade.
The Russian ambassador, without any available evidence, supported the narrative spread by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, quoting his statement that “Serbia has nothing to do with the explosion near Zubina Potok”, adding that he is not surprised by terrorist acts against Serbs living in the north of Kosovo.
What did Bochan Harchenko say?
Bocan-Harchenko also asked “why would Belgrade aim to create unbearable living conditions for Serbs in the north of the province”, adding that this is part of Pristina’s policy that has been pursued for years, “especially since Albin Kurti came to power”.
“The goal of the Pristina authorities,” Harchenko said without argument, “is to create unbearable living conditions for Serbs in Kosovo” and reminded, again without evidence, that Serbia is doing everything to make life easier for Serbs from the north.
Analysis:
Bocan Harčenko’s statement is fully consistent with the statements of not only the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, but also the head of Serbian diplomacy, Marko Đurić, as well as the director of the Office of the Government of Serbia for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Petar Petković.
In a post on the social network X, Đurić condemned the attack on the canal and stated that “the government of Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti is involved”, without providing evidence for this.
The Director of the Office of the Serbian Government for Kosovo and Metohija, Petar Petković, said, without evidence, that the destruction of part of the Ibar-Lepenac canal is “an inadmissible and unacceptable attack that most directly threatens the life needs of the Serbian people who already live in difficult conditions, especially in the north of Kosovo.”
