The main party of Serbs in Kosovo, Srpska Lista, has disinformed that in the Assembly of Kosovo, deputies of their party were allegedly attacked, including a pregnant deputy, when they attended the session that was supposed to ensure their salary and the continuation of their mandate.
What did Srpska Lista declared?
“We strongly condemn today’s unprovoked attack on the deputies of the Serbian List in the Prishtina Parliament by the deputies of Kurti and the Speaker of the Parliament Glauk Konjufca, who abused their position and prevented the elected representatives of the Serbian people from being present at the Assembly session. We emphasize that during the attack on the deputies of the Serbian List, among them was also the pregnant deputy Olivera Zdravković.”
Analysis:
In the Assembly of Kosovo on December 5, the MPs of the ruling party Vetevendosje initially prevented the entry of the MPs of the Serbian List, who had come to the session after a six-month absence in order not to lose their mandate. However, there were no physical attacks or verbal altercations from the government MPs, especially not towards MP Zdravković, who, according to the party, was attacked even though she is pregnant. The MPs from Vetëvendosje opposed this strategy of Serbian MPs doing this from 2022. They go every six months to secure their mandates and receive their salaries.
The Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca, also reacted from the podium to receiving salaries from taxpayers’ money without doing the work, saying that it was unacceptable that taxpayers’ money was being misused.
In the end, the Serbian List MPs signed and left the session, ensuring the continuation of the mandate.
