Sputnik propagates on Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe

Sputnik, known for its pro-Kremlin narrative, has propagated about Pristina and its relations with the Council of Europe.

The possible postponement of the decision on Kosovo’s membership of the Council of Europe is more than good news for Serbia, and we hope it will remain so. Obviously, after the talks between our and the French President, some things have changed and there is pressure on Pristina regarding the Association of Serb Municipalities, which is put in the foreground, says Biljana Pantić-Pilja, head of the Serbian delegation to the Council of Europe.

Analysis:

It is well known that Sputnik often uses sensationalist headlines to attract public attention. The postponement of the decision on Kosovo’s membership of the Council of Europe does not automatically mean that Kosovo is excluded or rejected, but merely that the decision was not taken at the time. The statements attributed to the head of the Serbian delegation to the Council of Europe, Biljana Pantić-Pilja, must be taken with a pinch of salt in view of their possible bias.
