Publicist Igor Ivanovic has recently made a number of controversial claims about NATO and its role in global relations. In an interview with Sputnik Serbia, Ivanovic claims that NATO is the main cause of the current global destabilization and accuses it of planning to build a nuclear shield near Russia’s borders.

“All the current destabilization processes in the world stem from NATO’s intention to bring a nuclear shield closer to Russia’s borders in the name of the ‘sect of the rich’. If this factor were avoided, many things would be amortized.”
Analysis:
Igor Ivanovic and Sputnik Serbia try to portray NATO as an aggressive organization responsible for global conflicts. But the truth is quite different. NATO is an Alliance founded to ensure the security and defense of its members and to promote democracy and the rule of law.
