“New drama in Kosovo: A dangerous experiment from Pristina and the West – the goal is to lead the Serbs to collapse”, reads the misleading headline of an article published on Monday on the portal “Sputnik Srbia”.
What did the text say?
“The situation is getting more difficult by the hour. We have had a ban on sending food and food products from Serbia for a year, and now the medical supplies needed by patients are also on the agenda. This is where the real drama is. This is how Dr. Milan Ivanovic head of the Department of Pulmonary Diseases at the KBC in Mitrovica for Sputnik describes the grim situation in this health facility, which worsened with the removal of the dinar. And this crazy decision by Kurt’s so-called government caused a general chaos from which the sick, the elderly and the children suffered the most.”

Analysis:
This text deals generally with the problems of the Serbs in Mitrovica with regard to the health aspect, whereby an attempt is also made to present the abolition of the Serbian dinar in Kosovo as a problem. This decision was taken on January 17 by the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK) and came into force on 01.02.2024.
Through this title, it is implied that Kosovo, in cooperation with the West, is working on a dangerous experiment to the detriment of the Serbs, which in their opinion is described as a “new drama”, but this is not true at all, because nothing has happened.
Moreover, as can be seen from the statement and part of the text, the title does not match what is said and written, as it has nothing to do with a “drama” and experiment from Kosovo against Serbia.
So it seems clear that this title, which in a way can be considered tendentious, was only meant to attract the audience, with the aim of achieving better readability.
