The Russian Ambassador in Washington, Anatoly Antonov, has accused the West of what he said was a hypocritical cover-up of the facts regarding the recent attack on the Ohmatdyt hospital in Kiev. He misinforms that the hospital was hit by a Ukrainian anti-aircraft missile, not a Russian one.
Antonov said:
“This is not the first time that the Kiev regime has attributed its own barbaric crimes to Russia. This speaks of only one thing: The West should stop supplying weapons to the thugs who are killing civilians in Russia and Ukraine. But the reality is that the hospital incident, which took place on the eve of the NATO summit in Washington, was apparently received as a ‘perfect gift’ to justify the further escalation of the conflict and the continuation of the war to the last Ukrainian”.
Analysis:
Antonov disinforms in order to blame Ukraine for the attack, claiming that Ukrainian forces are responsible for civilian deaths.
This tactic is used to divert attention from Russian military operations and crimes during the war in Ukraine.
Officials from Ukraine have also rejected these claims, stating that the evidence clearly points to the responsibility of Russian forces for attacks on civilian targets.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said today that the responsibility for the attack on the Ohmatdyt hospital in Kiev lies not only with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, but also with all Russians, as well as with the Russian and foreign companies that support and finance it.
Therefore, the aim of all these statements is to divert attention from Russia’s responsibility for the aggression and to support the narrative of a ‘hostile West’.
Rescue workers in Ukraine continued to search for more dead and injured in the rubble of the largest children’s hospital in Ukraine after Ukrainian authorities reported that a Russian missile had collapsed a wing of the facility, killing at least 42 people across the country./The Geopost/
