Serbian media have published the next disinformation under the title “Kurti police continue their abuses: they searched pharmacies in Zveçan and North Mitrovica”. This disinformation was published on Thursday on the portal “Novosti”.
What did the text say?
“Kosovo Customs and Police searched two pharmacies today, one in Zvecan, while another pharmacy in the northern part of Mitrovica is being checked.
Kosovo police and customs frequently check buildings owned by Serbs.
At the end of January, the KBC – Mitrovica warehouse was inspected, but nothing of pharmaceutical material was found in it, only beds and nightgowns that were removed from the hospital for renovation work.
In the Serb-majority municipalities in the north, warehouses and stores are also being checked, based on reports that always turn out to be false.”
Analysis:
This text clearly shows the tendency of disinformation against the actions of the Kosovo Police. According to them, this action is in some way related to “mistreatment” of pharmacy businesses in North Mitrovica under the pretext that this is done on purpose because they never found anything illegal.
This trend of “mistreatment” does not hold up at all, as the deputy police director in the north, Veton Elshani, said that the action is due to suspicion of smuggling goods with medical products.
Thus, as can be seen from the statement of the deputy police director of the North, this inspection is not aimed at harming businesses, but is merely an action in which goods are also inspected, and this text can be considered tendentious and disinforming readers.
