“Politika” disinforms: Kosovo and Ukraine cooperate to the detriment of Serbs

Politika is often accused of biased reporting and spreading disinformation on regional issues such as the situation in Kosovo and Ukraine. Politika disinforms that Ukraine and Kosovo are cooperating, while implying that this has negative consequences for Serbs and Russia, but these claims are unfounded and serve to spread disinformation and manipulate public opinion.

What does the “Politika” say:

Ukraine and the authorities in Pristina have been growing closer lately, which is not surprising, just as the sudden interest of Ukrainians in what is happening in Srebrenica is not surprising. Srebrenica and Kosovo are always ‘in the story’ when it comes to declaring the Serbs criminals, just as Ukraine is used to avoid portraying the Russians as ‘bloodthirsty’. This is not surprising, given that the West, that is NATO, is the financier and sponsor of both the Pristina, Kiev and Sarajevo regimes.

Analysis:

This text seeks to propagate a negative image of the West, Kosovo, Kiev and Sarajevo, while at the same time attempting to justify Russia’s role and policies in these regions. This manipulation of information serves the Russian propaganda machine and undermines attempts to resolve the conflict peacefully and stabilise the region.

Furthermore, the claim that the West, that is NATO, is funding and ‘supporting the Pristina, Kiev and Sarajevo regimes’ is completely unfounded. Although the West provides support to these countries in various forms, to claim that these countries are under the direct control of the West or NATO is a distortion of the facts.
