The director of the so-called Office for Kosovo in the Serbian government, Petar Petkovic, has once again misinformed that Serbs are being persecuted and “shot” in Kosovo. He also blamed the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, for carrying out “hostile measures”.
What did Petkovic say?
“The only one who is taking hostile measures and making hostile movements is Albin Kurti with his unilateral, violent actions and unlawful deeds and actions to the detriment of the Serbian people and all peace in the Western Balkans … during the period of government.” of Kurti, seven Serbs were shot dead, dozens of them were arbitrarily arrested and almost 20 percent of Serbs were arrested and deported from the north” and said these were ”clear and documented acts of violence, aggression and hostility. Their sole aim is to expel the Serbs from their centuries-old homeland.
Analysis:
Petkovic has openly misinformed when he says that “seven Serbs were shot dead” when no such data exists. His narrative of killings, violent arrests and deportations was created by the regime in Serbia to attack the Kosovo government for extending the law to the north of the country and fighting the smuggling of people who had support in Belgrade.
Russia also follows this narrative, spreading Serbian propaganda that Serbs in northern Kosovo are being persecuted and expelled.
There is also no evidence that the Kosovo police are using violence against local Serbs in the north of the country.
In Kosovo, the Serbian minority is protected by the constitution and, like few minorities in Europe, is guaranteed ten seats in the Kosovo Assembly and its vote is required to pass the country’s vital laws./The Geopost/
